OPEN STUDIO - 3000 ROYAL ST
WE ARE CURRENTY ACCEPTING OPEN STUDIO MEMBERS AT BOTH OUR LOCATIONS
Open studio gives anyone with a basic knowledge of ceramics the ability to practice their craft as and when they choose. Open studio allows the flexibility to work on a project, or multiple projects, on your own time, without having to wait for another class. Fees are $190 per month and include the cost of firing your work*, glazes, studio equipment and a place to store work in progress
studio
At Royal st we have 1500sqft of workspace in addition to storage and kiln rooms dedicated for open studio use. Classes are held at our Gentilly location so there’s no need to avoid class times we are truly a 24/7 facility
GLAZES
We keep around 20 in-house glazes as well as a variety of colored slips and washes which are included in studio fees. We fire glaze to cone 6 and only fire clay bought from our studio but you can use your own cone 6 glazes. We fire many kilns a week to keep work moving through. If you need something for a deadline let us know and we’ll do our best to get it through in time.
COMMUNITY
In addition to the practicalities, open studio offers a sense of community and a chance to share skills and ideas. We hold two open studio meet ups monthly, One in the daytime and one in the evening. Here you can watch a demo or grab a drink and snack with your fellow members. Working with clay is very therapeutic and The London Clayworks provides a tranquil and creative environment for you to practice your craft.
OPEN STUDIO AT DREUX AVE
We are happy to say that Open Studio at Dreux is now open and we welcomed our first new members in May. We are adding people gradually for a smoother transition but hope to meet desired start dates as much as possible.
If you’d like to join open studio at either location please use the form below and we’ll be in touch. If you haven’t been to us before and would like to view the space, you can come during any class at Dreux Ave or by appointment at Royal Street. We can’t wait to meet you!
